During the long historical course, Suzhou has many other names, such as it was called “the Prefecture of Pingjiang” in Song Dynasty; in Yuan Dynasty, Suzhou was called “Pingjiang Road” (Road means an administrative area here), which has the meaning of pacify the south of the Yangtze River.
